Hi All,

This may have been discussed before but I couldn't find a reference in
the archives so i'll just ask :)

There are a couple of companies on ebay selling dive watches (in the
scuba section) _very_ cheaply, mainly seiko etc, for about a quater of
the retail price. My understanding is that the companies concerned and
ebay tend to stamp down hard on fakes being sold. Does anyone know
what the fatal flaw in these cheap watches is? ie. do they flood at
2m?

"If it looks too good to be true" etc but my curiosity has got the
better of me.

Cheers

Not entirely certain of the story here, But often in this sort of case with
gear it's last years/decades/minutes stock. You know the story.... the
company facelifts the stuff with a square thingamijig on the flamoozle and
call it "new and improved" and sell the old stuff with circular thingamijigs
to the surplus dealers out the back door...

Not one of that ilk but I did get hold of a Citizen Eco-Drive Dive
Watch at 1/3 the cost new. This was a display model old stock.
Beautiful. No manual but the co has their manuals on line.

Watch, many come with no warranty. If the watch is good no problem but if
bad you may eat it. Sometimes foreign warranties are not good.
