We had a family with 2 boys, 14 & 12 years old. They went thru the
same training the adults did & did all that we did (except for diving
down to 18 meters).
I *believe* that upon reaching 15, their junoior open water becomes a
regular Open Water. I was looking at the list of PADI courses the
other day & didn't see any Junior/senior conversions. However, check
with an instructor to be certain :-)
Cheers,
Dave
Hi!
I'm planning on doing an Open Water course sometime over Winter with my 12yo
son ( after he does a trial session!)
I realise that he can only dive to 12m, and that I can dive to 18m after the
course.
However, what happens when he turns 15? Can he then dive to the same depth
as an adult or is another course required?
Also, how does the training for a junior work? Do they do exactly the same
course as the adults?
Any other suggestions/recommendations on diving with a 12-15 yo are most
welcome.
Thanks,
Steve
