Hi all,

I do actually mean the Swan river not the wreck!!

Has anyone been in there lately....Any crabs or prawns about??

On crabs, what is the best way to catch them whilst diving?? I have been
told welding gloves are the way to go, but am open to suggestions!

Did a dive there in the river last night...Excellent stuff. Carbs and
prawns both about - not a heap, but enough for lunch!.

But....Saw something interesting. I guess it was best described as a large
flattened prawn. Instead of darting about, it seemed to run around quite
fast. Any ideas what it was??

Hi Ady - also called a "mantyis shrimp". Keep yer fingers and camera lens
well clear as they can break both!!

BTW, hi Peter. Long time no see. Been doing some diving over the break?

Cheers

Thanks guys.... A quick google for some pics of the mantis shrimp shows
that that is probably what we saw.

I guess we were lucky, after deliberately not catching it, we found it
caught in our prawn net! So we removed it!! If only we knew about the
claws!
