Hi everyone.
Can I come in?
I'm currently in the uk, waiting for my Australian visa. I thought this may
be a good place to wait :-)
At the moment I'm planning on staying in Brisbane, figuring that it would be
fairly tropical and still a big city that may have some jobs. Mostly I'm
looking forward to getting underwater over there.
So, please let me join in....
Cheers, Jeff.

- Nah, 3 weeks this time. 1 in TVE and 2 in Brisbane. Hoping to make some
good dives in Townsville, just started diving though.

You staying long?

Where's TVE?
So is Brisbane THE place to go? I've seen quite a few posts mentioning
Townsville but I would have guessed further north would be better. Please
excuse my ignorance, I'm not from around here - the nearest places I have to
dive you're lucky if you can see as far as your fins :-)

Great place for diving (as I've heard), going out and enjoying the weather

Well there's the Yongala wreck, which is actually about 3 hours travel by
boat from Townsville and is a great dive. Other than that though, I think
it's more limited than a lot of other places. The nearby reefs are not
known as being anything special.

Townsville itself is a nice enough town, but it's not got that much to
offer a tourist. It's pretty quiet at night. I wouldn't spend a week
there. You might want to go down to Mission Beach and do the Lady Bowen
wreck too.
