Hey,
I'm doing an assignment for geography at school. My question is What are the
differences between the aquatic ecosystems in Sydney and on the Great
Barrier Reef.
I was just wondering if anyone out there had any photos, or articles or text
files or anything?

thanks in advance for your help :)

Think in terms of photosynthesis. On the GBR does the coral
photosynthesise? Or something ON the coral photosynthesise? If so, then
most activity needs to be in light, so closer to the surface. Is this the
same in Sydney? Also, think in terms of nutrients in the water:
theoretically reefs are low-nutrient waters: there's been a lot of
discussion recently about the fertiliser runoff from farming introducing
nutrients into the water causing algae etc...What would be the sources of
nutrients in the Sydney water systems, and what sort of plants would that
promote? Remember that the plants/food available dictates which
fish/crustacea can exist.

Good luck with your assignment.
